We are sad to announce that on October 23, 2024, at the age of 85, Sylvia E. Miatke Dejong of Dalton, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford and Hazel Beegle (Snure); and her husband David P. DeJong. She is survived by: her children, Rhonda Arney (Bruce), Ray Miatke and Rex Miatke (Kim); her stepsons, Paul DeJong (Sandy), Timothy DeJong (Lorie), James DeJong (Kyleen) and Mark DeJong (Ruth); her grandchildren, Shawn Siciliano, Desiree Remick (Chris), Lela Miatke, Rainy Miatke, Baxter Miatke (Devon), Daicey Miatke and Madison Miatke; her stepgrandchildren, Daniel DeJong, Heather Lawrence, Nathan DeJong, Heidi Gabler, Brian DeJong, Sheila Weller, Philip DeJong, Njema DeJong, Rehema DeJong, Ngina DeJong, Amber Jacobs and Veronica Reichman; and her siblings, Cheryl Wirt (Ken) and Gary Beegle (Nancy).

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (7605 E Pleasant Home Rd, Sterling, OH 44276).
