He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Benschoter and Ada Benschoter (Long); his daughters, Diane Smelser and Susan Benschoter; his brother Robert Benschoter; his brother-in-law Steve Wood; and his great grandchild Tenley.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon L. Bartrum; his children, John Benschoter (Rhonda) of Cygnet, Thomas Benschoter of Cygnet and Teresa Benschoter of Bloomdale, Ohio; his sister Jean Wood of Findlay; his sister-in-law Peggy Kagy of Bloomdale, Ohio; his grandchildren, Matt Smelser (Shelby), Jennifer Smelser, Benjamin Smelser, Tyler Benschoter (Audra), Kyle Benschoter (Darla), Nathan, Kendahl, Reghan and Sawyer Benschoter; and his great grandchildren, Lane, Loften, Lowen, Joshua, Callen, Ella and Maxton.
Memorial donations may be made to the Elmwood High School food bank.
