He is survived by: his wife Diane (Ruehrwein); his children, Teresa McCarthy (Tex), F. Brian Thomas (Georjette), Leslie Lambacher (Jeff) and Mark "Duke" Thomas (Krissy); his grandchildren, Erin McCarthy Higgins (Sean), John McCarthy, Megan Lambacher Croft (Kyle), Ellie Lambacher and Andrew Thomas; and his great grandchild Liam Higgins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Uncle Frank guided me into attending Akron University to pursue a Business Degree in Data Processing. He got me a job at the Data Center I/O window and assistant to the Programming staff. He had the patience of a saint tutoring me in Geometry. He took the time to give my daughter Shaylee some college tips with her math and science brain at JC's wedding. Frank Thomas will be missed by many but not forgotten. Wishing peace and strength to Aunt Diane & Thomas families. Love Susan Lavin”
