She was predeceased by: her parents, Simon C. Whytsell and Laura Whytsell; her husbands, Thomas N. Joy and Harold Ladd; her sons, Mark, Thomas T. and Norman Joy; her stepchildren, Jeanie Wilson and Tommy Joy; and her grandson Michael Joy.
She is survived by: her children, Roger Whytsell (Bonnie) of Fort Mill, SC and Mary Joy Tabler of Fort Defiance, VA; her stepdaughter Martha Bell of Elizabeth, WV; her grandchildren, Mark Joy, Jenni Ann Joy, Tommy Joy, Jeremy Tabler (Angela), Gabriel Joy (Jessica), Evan Whytsell (Julie), Derek Whytsell, Rachel Dimery (Matthew), Erin Hollandsworth (Chris) and Amber Joy; and her close friends, Brenda, Mark and Carter Majors. She is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren, eight great, great-grandchildren.
