He was predeceased by: his wife Marie; and his nephew Roger Shull. He is survived by: his sons, Richard Wilson Jr. (Liping Yu) and William Wilson (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Richard G. Wilson III, Christopher Wilson, William Wilson and Skylar Wilson; and his sister Charlotte "Charlie" Nicholson (Doc). He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #35.
