He was predeceased by: his parent Paul John Schmitz (Audrey Agnes Phitzer); his siblings, Karen King and Wayne Schmitz; and his brother-in-law James Floyd. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Schmitz; his children, Larry Schmitz, Terry Schmitz, Tonya Roe (Hjalmer), Tamara Lipp (Brad), Alicia Long (Carl), William Phillips (Taylor) and Deborah Phillips; and his siblings, Paul Schmitz (Sandra), Judith Floyd and Michael Schmitz (Chrissy). He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made the Ann Arbor Fisher House, Disabled American Veterans, or to Southern Care Hospice.
