He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Maynard and Idella Napier Maynard; his stepmother Sadie Queen Maynard; his siblings, Curtis, Newman and Howard Maynard; his grandson Shawn Maynard; his half-sisters, Cleo Maynard and Aldean Maynard; his son-in-law John Perdue; his grandparents, Lindsey Maynard, Nancy Victoria Maynard Adkins, William Albert and Elizabeth Napier; and his great-grandparents, Charles Maynard, Matilda Cassidy Maynard, Ruben and Elizabeth Queen Adkins.
He is survived by: his former wife Eunice Smith Maynard; his wife Virginia Williams Maynard; his children, Barbara LeGates of Wilmington, Beatrice Claing Brewer (Thuerl) of Chesapeake, Delmas Maynard (Judy) of Chester, VA, Sylvia Kay Kahl (Bill) of Forest Hills, MD, Gaynelle Perdue of Chesapeake and Bruce Willard Maynard (Cathy) of Lanett, AL; and his stepchildren, Harold, Sandy Montgomery, Karen, Wilbur Van Matre, Rodney and Angie Dunfee. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
