He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Simms and Malinda Simms; and his siblings, Donnie, Dale, Douglas, Mary, Frances and Juanita.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Wray Simms; and his children, Mike (Debbie Simms), Randy Simms, Joe (Michelle Simms) and Kris (Detra Ferrell). He is also survived by seven grandsons; and one great grandson.
