He was predeceased by: his mother Ethel Lorena Burgess Shaw, Sr. (Burgess); his wife Norma Jean Riemesch; his grandparents, Lawrence E. and Minerva Shaw (Beeler); his father Franklin M. Shaw,; his daughter Melanie J. Shaw; his brother John E. Shaw; and his siblings-in-law, Fred Hager, Shirley Rudy (Ned) and Jan Young (Dale).
He is survived by: his son Craig M. Shaw (Marilyn); his grandchildren, Lynn Bodine (Bret), Amy Brearley (Dan), Erin Montgomery (Josh) and Jason Shaw (Hannah); his great grandchildren, Madelyn Bodine, Ben Smith, Logan Brearley, Sam Brearley, Max Montgomery, Molly Montgomery, Gracie Shaw, Emmett Shaw and Briggs Shaw; his stepgreat-grandchild Gaige Gresham; his sister Doris Hager; and his sister-in-law Andrea Kim Riemesch.
Memorial contributions may be given to Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District or to 4-H Camp Palmer.
