He was predeceased by: his parents, Sanky Paul and Florence Victoria Britton LaRue; his brothers, Lloyd "Bud", Robert and Richard LaRue; his grandson D. J.; and his daughter Debra.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn LaRue (Hawkins); and his sister Bonnie LaRue of Fountain Valley, CA. He is also survived by four children.
