He was predeceased by: his father Raymond C. Alverson; and his brothers, Robert and Tom Alverson. He is survived by: his wife Diane Alverson (Guthrie) of Coshocton; his daughters, Gina Dolick (Mark) of New Concord and Janelle Frischen (Stephen) of Coshocton; his grandchildren, Brandon Dolick, Lauren Hutcheson (Jordan), Kerrie Morton (Tanner) and Clark Richard Frischen; his great grandchild Miah Morton; his brother John Alverson (Judy) of Coshocton; and his sisters-in-law, Helene Alverson of Warsaw and Myrtle Clymer (John) of Barnesville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
