He is survived by: his wife Renate W. Hettinger (Haas) of Coshocton; his children, Lawrence D. Hettinger, Jr. (Brooke) of Virginia, Glenn Hettinger (Patty) of Columbus, Carolyn Strayer (Todd) of Columbus, Dean Hettinger (Jennifer) of Warsaw and Deborah Zerkle (Tony) of Rushville; his grandchildren, Theresa Dlugopolsky (John), David Hettinger (Christina), Christine Garfield (Kelly), Michael Hettinger, Jessica Norton (Deon), Danielle Jack (Tony), Alex Hettinger (Dani), Alyssa Lepp (Brandon), Lauren Booth, Nathan Strayer (Casey), Madelyn Strayer, Lillian Strayer, Evelyn Strayer, Bailey Hettinger and Owen Hettinger; his brothers, James Hettinger (Barbara) of Texas and Charlie Hettinger (Becky) of Texas; his son-in-law Joseph McBride; and his sister-in-law Lucy Hettinger of Akron. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
