He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank R. Johnson and Una Edna Grafton Johnson; his wife Mary Jo Johnson; his daughter Julie A. Gardner; his siblings, Karen Johnson, Sharen Totten and Clair Johnson (Florence); and his brothers-in-law, Nick Bellitt and Rudy Laurich.
He is survived by: his children, Darren Johnson (Lynne), Ronna Nazarini (Anthony), Judene Ainsley (Greg) and Jill Coen (late Jim Coen); his grandchildren, Amanda Bland (Jamie), Abbie Lawrence (Dan), Jacob Johnson, Julianne Johnson, James Coen, Jr. (Sarah) and Alicia Coen (Jeremy); his great grandchildren, Brooklynne Parker (Dashawn), Keegan Bland, Rylan Bland, Cooper Lawrence, Elliana Lawrence, Marlei Coen-Young and Kaydence Coen; his great great grandchildren, Cassius Parker and Mireya Parker; his son-in-law Jim Gardner (Beth); his siblings, Kathleen Laurich, Erma Jean Bellitt, Kenneth Johnson (Marge), James Johnson (Judy) and Donald Johnson (Gail); and his brother-in-law Neil Totten.
