He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Knight and Bernice Knight (Baldwin); his wife Rose Magdych; his former wife Virginia "Jenny" Lynch; and his brothers, Harold, Ernest and Donald Knight.

He is survived by: his children, Jonathan Knight of Cortland, Janet Ward (William) of Cortland, Jeffrey Knight of Cortland, Dennis Knight of California and Nathan Knight (Becky) of Cortland; his grandchildren, Elyse Ward Foust (Matthew), Ethan Ward, Abigail Knight Hollabaugh (Ben), Timothy, Thomas and Amanda Knight; his great grandchildren, Lily, Charlotte Foust and Ember Ward; and his siblings, Ruth DiGiacobbe (Jim) and Roy Knight (Martha). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
