It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Louise Nikkel (Cortland, Ohio), who passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Bortz and Alvina Bortz; her husband Henry Nikkel; and her siblings, Elmer Jr. and Carole.
She is survived by: her brother Donald Bortz (Del); her children, David Nikkel (Lorena Murray) and Megen Stocker (Robert); and her grandchildren, Charlene Morrow (Matthew), Bradley Brown (Mindy), Allison Murray-Nikkel (Daniel Sommer), Abigail Rinehart (Francis), Colleen Vega (David) and Becky Saltzmann (George). She is also survived by two great granddaughters, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
