He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Reed and Josephine Phillips (Ashbaugh). He is survived by: his stepfather Harold Phillips; his nephew William "Bill" Smith (Julie); and his nieces, Beverly Freeman and Cathy Coleman Flowers.
