He is survived by: his spouse Marie Jane Unverferth; his children, Judy Rau (Dave), Janet Liffick (Bob), Joan Hedrick (Denny) of Continental, Jim Schmidt (Karen) of Hicksville, Jean Carr (Rob) of Defiance and John Schmidt (Tonya) of Continental; and his grandchildren, Tod Liffick (Amy), Tisha Rau, Mindy Liffick, Kendra Timmerman (Jason), Jordan Carr (Alicia), Curt Hedrick, Justin Carr (Danette), Preston Carr (Stacy), Cobin Vennekotter (Ryan), Nathan Schmidt (Allison), Kelsey Klepper (Taylor), Damon Schmidt (Erin), Karley Brown (Taylor), Austin Carr and Brandon Schmidt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or to the Defiance Inpatient Hospice.
