She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Gustavsen and Louise Gustavsen (Dunker); her husband Kenneth C. Fickel; and her sister Maggie Gustavsen. She is survived by: her children, Karen Boyce (Jamie) of Cecil, Kelly Mercer (Larry) of Travelers Rest, SC, Alan Fickel of Cecil, Chuck Mercer (Patricia) of Cloverdale and Matt Fickel (Leann) of Paulding; and her brother Art Gustavsen. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
