He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Swiger and Eunice Swiger (Hinkle); his son Melville Ray Swiger, Jr.; and his granddaughter Brittney Swiger. He is survived by: his spouse Medra Rickard; his children, James Swiger (Tammy) of Piqua, Charles Swiger (Sina) of Yuma, AZ and Dedra Swiger of Conover; his grandchildren, Danielle, Derek Swiger, Dessa Velazquez (Martin), Cheyenne Houchin, Mathew and Jarret Swiger; and his great grandchildren, Martin Velazquez, Jr., Viktor Velazquez, Emma Velazquez and Caylee Swiger.
