He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Clemens and Maud Clemens (Gilkey); his wife Ida Mae McFadden (McFadden); his siblings, Samuel, Wesley Clemens, Ruth Calloway and Margaret Druggan; his daughter Rose Ramey; his grandsons, Joshua Clemens and Kenneth Ramey, Jr.; his great grandchild Cory Lewis; and his daughter-in-law Patricia Clemens.

He is survived by: his children, William G. (Suzette) of Conneaut, David G. of Conneaut, Charles D. Clemens of West Virginia, Wilma L. Kern (Terry) of Conneaut and Dora L. Hannold (Matthew) of North Kingsville; his sister Ida M. Gill of Pierpont; his son-in-law Kenneth Ramey, Sr.; and his sister-in-law Jeanie McFadden (Robert) of Kingsville. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
