He was predeceased by: his parents, Newton Albert James Wheeler and Mary Ann Zekas; his wife Dorothy Norton; his grandson Joseph Sharpe; and his brother Albert Wheeler.
He is survived by: his children, Paul J. Wheeler, Jr. (Chris) of Pittsburgh, Patricia A. Sharpe of Columbus, Karen A. Ring of Columbus, Sandra D. Waters of Columbus, Pamala L. Gebe (Stephen) of Conneaut and Michael J. Wheeler of Columbus; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Justin Wheeler, Allison Ambrose, Joshua Sharpe, Herbert, Bryan Waters, Melissa Waters, Stephen Gebe and Krystin Pocatko. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
