He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gritzer and Mary Gritzer (Gumbita); his son William Gritzer; and his siblings, Ann Gritzer, Mary Jane, Sally Steele, Elizabeth Gritzer, Helen Donnelly, John, Michael, George and Joseph Gritzer.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Gritzer (Port) of Conneaut; and his children, Richard "Rick", Jane Szalai, John Szalai of Monroe and Suzanne "Penny" Andrews of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
