He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Stedman (Libby); his children, Gretchen Kleman (Wayne), Richard Stedman II (Amy) and Patrick Stedman; his grandchildren, Allison, Brendan, Richard (Roux), Joshua, Elijah and Myer; and his sisters, Patricia Martin (Scott), Barbara Crawford and Mary Schodorf (Steve). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was a long time supporter of St. Charles Preparatory High School, the Boy Scouts of America, St. Andrew Church, and a founding member of the Catholic Foundation.
