He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shirey and Dorothy Shirey; his sister-in-law Darla Winston; and his sister Pamela Cody. He is survived by: his wife Doretta Coffman; and his children, James Shirey, Leeann Shirey, Crystal Shirey, Chad Coffman and Brad Coffman. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends.
