He was predeceased by: his wife Donna; and his son David. He is survived by: his son Gary Berndt (Margie); his grandchildren, Jennifer Berndt, Stacy Chuminatto (Brad) and Jamie Humenny (Doug); and his great grandchildren, Lauren, Jack, Dylan and Ford.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St John Lutheran Church (2745 W Broad St, Columbus, OH 43204). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
