With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Okie Evans of Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on February 20, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandson Nathanael Evans; his parents, Wilburn Evans and Genevieve Evans; his siblings, Oral Evans, Ulysses Evans, Marybelle Evans, Leona Spaulding and Mavis Mattenklott; and his brothers-in-law, Chuck Jude and Robert Adkins.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Evans; his sons, Aaron Sean Evans (Jacqueline), Todd Evans (Amy) and Frank Karshner (Teresa); his grandchildren, Kileah May (Tyler), Austin Evans (Robi) and Dillon Evans; his great grandchildren, Karson Kerr-Evans, Michael Evans, Haisley May and Maverick Evans; and his siblings, Oretha Bailey (George), Wilburn Evans (Lori), Beth Farley (Richard) and Joyce Jude.
Viewing will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Gompf Funeral Home (440 Center St, Cardington, OH 43315). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
