“I knew Michael at Roosevelt in the late 60s. He lived near me and would often visit. We'd just sit at my kitchen table and talk. And laugh. And smoke weed. And drink Old Style. I saw him last in San Francisco in the summer of 1971. He's just someone I'd think of often over the years. I'm so sad I never saw him again. I'm sure many people cared for him. He was such a wonderful man. I remember he talked about his heroism during the Oak Lawn tornado. I'm so sorry to his family.”
