She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Staples and Bessie Mae Staples; her husband Robert Lee Holt Jr.; her sons, Clayton Lee Jackson Jr. and Robert Anthony Holt; her sister Clara Ruth Staples; her nephew Carlos Dequin Staples; her son-in-law Terrance Hale; and her brother-in-law Walter Simon.
She is survived by: her daughters, Martha Holt Jr., Cynthia Hale and Lillie Bell (Roy); her siblings, Mary Louise Simon and William Thomas Cassells; and her grandchildren, Tanika Blair, Tramaine Blair, Jerrell Blair and Byron McCarroll. She is also survived by grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cherished godchildren.
Her proudest accomplishments were decorated with accolades, including her induction into the Hall of Fame in Dayton, Ohio, for her contributions to gospel music, and her membership in the Eastern Star organizations.
