He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeff Hall and Lillie Mae Hall; his son Ernest Dotson; and his siblings, Elaine Snow, Barbara Lynn Hall and Timothy Hall.

He is survived by: his children, Billy Hall, Bobbie McDonnell and Ronald Korbel (Marina Hall); and his brother Jeffrey Hall. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, numerous other family and friends.
