He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Thomson and Doris C. Fila Thomson. He is survived by: his children, John, Lisa Thomson, Bill and Jennifer Cox; and his grandchildren, Zachary Cox, Samantha Russell, Kyle Cox, Kahea Cox and Alicia Doucet.
