She was predeceased by: her husband Robert C. Thornton; and her brother Henry Spohn. She is survived by: her children, Charles Thornton (Marshall Poplin), Irene Scott (Jeffrey), Traci Thornton and Ellen Davis; her brother George Spohn (Nancy); her grandsons, Michael Thornton, John W. Scott, Jason Scott (Kathleen), Christopher Thornton and Tim Davis, Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Faith, John V. and Arianna. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church in Elizabeth's name.
