He is survived by: his wife Lynne Anita Gatton (Cahill); his children, Mia Bethany Gilbert (Mark) and Gabriel Patrick Gatton (Dale "Chip" Monroe); and his grandchildren, Kailee Eileen Gilbert and Declan Connor Gilbert.
