He was predeceased by: his daughter Laura Kreis; and his parent-in-law Arthur. He is survived by: his wife Debra Kreis of Columbus; his children, Melanie Yoder (Christopher) of Columbus, Daniel Kreis (Dawna) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Douglas Kreis (Lisa) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Shawn Kelley of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, David, Daniele, Delaney, Kassydi, Natalie, Ashton, Christian, William and Isabelle; his great grandchild Mathew; his siblings, Linda Liston (Lisle) of Ashland and Kenneth Kreis of Ashland; and his siblings-in-law, Cathy Holt and Doug Jacobs (Angie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
