He was predeceased by: his mother Freda Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Nancy M. Russell (Chacon); his sons, Robert Baird, Chad Baird and Shane Baird; his grandchildren, Tyler Baird, Holly Baird, Riley Baird, Cassie Baird, Katie Baird, Chad Baird, Alex Baird and Devon Baird; and his brother Kenny Russell.
