She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Bowman and Jessie Hardesty Bowman; her children, Betty Hope and Michael Shafer; the father of her children James Paul Shafer; her siblings, Burl Bowman (Edna), Garrett Bowman, Tommy Bowman, Jimmy Bowman (June), Shurlene "Hope" Bowman, Fern Wheeler (Tom) and Jennia Tillman (Richard); and her brothers-in-law, John Flint and Carl Barr.
She is survived by: her son James Lee Shafer; her siblings, Sandra Flint, Brenda Barr, Joyce Short (Roger), Sammy Bowman (Jean), Duane Bowman (Gail) and David Bowman (Beverly); and her sister-in-law Jenny Bowman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
