It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anthony John Matthews (Columbus, Ohio), who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Donald Eugene Matthews; his sister Suzie; his sister-in-law Carol; and his pet Missy. He is survived by: his mother Suzanne Collins Matthews; his siblings, Paul, Karen, Molly Trovato (Joseph), Margaret (Patricia Hoyer), Patricia, Michael (Jennifer) and William; his nephews, Jack, Patrick, Matthew, Tony, John, Max, Joe, Daniel, Andrew and Thomas; his niece Cathleen; his great-nephews, Vincent and Henry; his great-niece Claire; and his friends, Dan Dragin and David Faure.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Egan-Ryan Funeral Home (4661 Kenny Rd, Columbus, OH 43220). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Agatha Church (1860 Northam Rd, Upper Arlington, OH 43221).
Tony gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. And his legacy will always be that he was a very kind, loving and caring individual with a big heart, who always gave to others.
