Adam J. Ellison Obituary
Adam Jerome Ellison born on February 19, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio he was the last living of 12 children born to the late Lemon J. and Josephine Ellison. He joined the U. S. Army at the age of 17 years old and fought in the Korean War, honorably discharged after 4 years of service. After the service he married Gloria (Anderson) Ellison together they raised three boys and four girls.
He was a featherweight champ for Douglas before working at D.C.S.C Where he later retired after 37 years of employment. He loved Church where he attended CRC. Adam J (Mr. Ellison) was well known in Columbus and loved by many. He was a brilliant and fabulous husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend to anyone who came in contact with him.
He had a heart of a giant, and it was Golden. He was called home Saturday March 6, 2021 at the age of 89, at The Dayton VA Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Adam is processed in death by his parents, loving wife Gloria Ellison, sisters Pearl Martin and Ella May Phillips, brothers Elbert, Ernest, Freddie Lee, John, Clement, Arthur, William and Lemon Jr. Ellison, nephew Ernest Lee, youngest Son Rodney Ellison, granddaughter Chasmine Marie.
He leaves to cherish his memories sons Adam (Maki) Ellison, Stanley Ellison, daughters Gloria Jean, Cheryl (Kevin) Weaver, Jada Ellison and Constance Ellison, 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and host of relatives and friends.
