He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence F. Altstaetter and Pauline Altstaetter (Leatherman); his wife Gloria J. Bradford; and his sisters-in-law, Sylvia Hayden (Jim), Jackie Martz, Janet Bracy (Ed) and Terry Bradford.

He is survived by: his sons, Kevin Altstaetter, Kent Altstaetter (Pam), Craig Altstaetter (Laurie Art) and Carey Altstaetter; his sister Sharon Schindler (John); his grandchildren, Kyle Altstaetter, Eric Altstaetter (Christy) and Krystle Altstaetter (Jeris Small); and his brother-in-law James Bradford.
