He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Anthony Metzger and Bertha Metzger (Ruhlen); his wife Betty B. Barto; his daughter Linda Kruse (Roger); his grandchildren, Elaine Kiene (Michael), Holly Zarse (Brian), Natalie Jay (Jason), Chad Metzger (Shari), Ryan Kruse (Katie), Aaron Kruse (Audrey), Nathan Kruse (Becca) and Justin Kruse (Lelah Norris); his sister Martha Cordonnier (Leo); his son Greg Metzger; and his grandsons, Douglas and Randall. He was also cherished by 23 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
