He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy E. Mellott and Lista L. Thomas Mellott; and his brothers, Richard and Vince Mellott. He is survived by: his wife Carol J. Coy Mellott; his sons, Dr. Derek T. Mellott (Angela) and Bruce P. Mellott (Darla); his sister Deanna Tancer; his sister-in-law Latna Mellott; his grandchildren, Alyssa Odou (Sean), Kristi Slater (Steven), Brock, Amanda and Brooke Mellott; and his great grandchild Grayson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
