She was predeceased by: her parents, William Downie and Olive Downie (Iley); her husband Mark; and her brother Paul Downie. She is survived by: her children, Jennette L. Van Pelt and Eric Van Pelt; and her sister-in-law Sara Downie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Ruth's family would suggest monetary donations to The United Methodist Church of Columbiana.
