He is survived by: his parents, Richard Balog and Mary Helena Balog (Todhunter) of Poland; his wife Wendi Dawn Balog (Podgorscak); his children, Alyssa (George Nanchoff) and Brett Balog (Danielle); his sisters, Theresa Devine (Michael), Nancy Cuba (Balog) and Wendy Newby (Scott); his grandchildren, Peyton, Aubrey, Jordyn Balog, Noah Weist and Isabella Nanchoff; his mother-in-law Verna Grace Podgorshak (Walker); and his siblings-in-law, Kristy Ann Podgorscak and Steve Jason Podgorscak. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews, his fellow brothers and sisters.
The family has asked that in place of flowers, please donate to Disabled American Veterans or St. Judes Children's Hospital. (Rick was faithful to donate to these two organizations.) Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
