He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dowd and Mary Dowd. He is survived by: his wife Janice "Jan"; his sister Mary Jane; his brother-in-law Joe Costanzo; his sons, Douglas Dowd (Theresa) and Martin Dowd (Sherry); his granddaughters, Taylor Boaz (Cason) and Jordan Dowd; and his great grandchild Mason. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and his constant companion.
He was one of the founding members of the Lisbon Community Foundation; member of the Lisbon Chamber of Commerce, where he held several offices; and the Kiwanis Club of Lisbon.
