He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Swank and Evelyn Wagner Swank; his sister Yvonne "Bonnie" (Gene Allen); his siblings-in-law, Jack and Alice Maxwell; his niece Karen Maxwell; and his parents-in-law, Margaret Maxwell and James Maxwell.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Maxwell Swank; his son Bryan Swank (Karen) of Columbiana; his siblings, Edwynna Stacy (George) of Columbiana and Eddie Swank (Donna) of New Waterford; his sister-in-law Nancy Roller (Don) of Missouri; and his granddaughters, Sarah and Alyssa Swank. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic a private family memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Columbiana with Pastor Fritz Nelson officiating.
