He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Mary; his children, Shannon Monter (James) and Douglas; his grandchildren, Laila, Colin "CJ" Monter and Jacob Skowronek; his sisters, Diane Kuenzel and Karen Hylant (Steve); and his parents, Joseph Skowronek and Mary Ann Skowronek.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the church.
