He was predeceased by: his spouse Billie Jean Ritchie; and his brothers, Phil and Harold. He is survived by: his children, Terri Howard (Keith), Cheryl Monaghan (Greg) and Steve Ritchie (Gwen); his grandchildren, Robert (Jennifer), Colleen, Matthew and Michael; his great grandchildren, Grace and Lucas; and his sister Patricia Cunningham (Robert).

Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church.
