She was predeceased by: her husband James Wood; her siblings, Dr. Donald Berning, Jeanne Connor, Margaret Wais, James Berning and Richard Berning; and her parents, Norbert Berning and Lillian Berning (Bergman).
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Lillian (Mary Lee); her son-in-law Ian Stuart Edwards; her grandson Stuart Norbert Edwards; and her stepgranddaughter Sarah Jane Edwards.

Berning Scholarship Fund at Saint Rita School for the Deaf, 1720 Glendale Milford Rd, Evendale, OH 45215, of which she was an avid supporter, the Twin Towers Resident Council Fund, 5343 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45224, to honor all the wonderful employees, or the charity of your choice.
