He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sr. Byer and Marie Byer (Haas); his grandson Harrison Evers; his siblings, Ken and Rosemary; and his in-laws, Ralph, Dorothy Kahlig, Frank Kahlig and Linda Darr.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Byer (Kahlig); his children, Jake, Jeana Byer of Coldwater and Jill; and his in-laws, Betty Kahlig, Steve Kahlig, Virgil, Jean Kahlig, Diane, Chip Otten, Carole, Ken Schmitmeyer, Dale, Carla Kahlig, Dan, Sheila Kahlig, Leonard, Gayle Kahlig, Eric, Teresa Kahlig and Marylin Kahlig. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
