He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Halterman and Ethel M. Halterman (Robinson); and his brother Chris Halterman. He is survived by: his wife Patricia (Kramer); his sons, Jay Halterman (Lisa) of Coldwater and Jeff Halterman (Glenda) of Coldwater; his grandchildren, Jared, Jenna, Janelle, Zachary (Brittany), Caitlin (Corey Decker) and Ryan (Hannah); his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Braycen, Madilyn and Bexten; and his siblings, Dave Halterman (Portia) of Florida and Julie Olden (Phil) of Cincinnati.

Due to COVID-19 concerns a private funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
