He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert J. Buening and Betty Jane Buening (Ahlers); and his brother-in-law Ron Schoenlein. He is survived by: his son Chad Buening; his grandchildren, Kaleb and Arianna; and his siblings, Linda Schoenlein of Cassella, Sharon, Luke Timmerman of Coldwater, Connie, Angela and Jason Gable of Sylvania. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
